An Update
From Billy
What’s Happening with Grass-Fed Beef Right Now?
We wanted to share a quick update with you about something we’ve been keeping a very close eye on lately—the current challenges in the grass-fed beef (and lamb) supply chain.
At Meat at Billy’s, we’ve built our reputation on offering premium-quality, grass-fed beef, and we take that responsibility very seriously. For us, consistent quality isn’t just a preference, it’s our standard.
Over the past few months, we’ve started seeing a noticeable dip in both the availability and quality of the grass-fed meat we typically source. Regions like Victoria and Tasmania, which supply a large portion of our grass-fed products, have been hit with persistent drought conditions. Limited rainfall has affected pasture growth, which in turn affects animal health, nutrition, and supply volumes.
We know how important it is for you to get your favourite cuts in your preferred brands. While we’re doing everything we can to avoid stock disruptions, the current conditions may mean that from time to time, certain items are unavailable. Please know this: we’re working closely with our trusted suppliers to maintain the high standards you expect from us.
This scenario certainly isn’t new to us in the industry. Being in Australia we’re accustomed to experiencing extended dry periods and know that this won’t last forever.
Until things get back to ‘normal’ though…. we’ll be exploring limited, specialty releases of grass-fed options in the coming months, so keep an eye out for those if you’re after something new and exceptional.
As always, we truly appreciate your patience and support as we manage this challenging period. Our goal has always been to deliver meat we’re proud of—and that you’re proud to serve at home.
