The Pork Pie from Wensley’s is a traditional English pork pie. It is made from fresh coarse pork encased in a rich traditional ‘hot water’ pastry, then perfectly seasoned and finished with a real pork jelly.
What makes them so good? Tony Wensley was the Bakery Manager of one of the oldest and prestigious Bakeries in Melton Mowbray, England, the renowned ‘Olde Pork Pie Shoppe’ before immigrating to Australia. What he doesn’t know about the English pork pie isn’t worth knowing.
