Meat at Billy’s Ashgrove was ‘buzzing’ with excitement this week as a bee swarm was discovered out the back of the shop. Never fear though, Jack and Chris from Bee One Third – Neighbourhood Honey (who look after our rooftop hives) had it under control.

A little bit of bee knowledge … swarming takes place when the queen bee leaves the colony with a large group of worker bees.

Check out the awesome video in the link below, showing them safely remove the bees from a polybox they had made their temporary home back into a custom box.

Jack tells us the bees will be moving back into newly renovated hives in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for their newly branded, fancy-pants hives!
